The Mural Room, once the hearing room for the County Board of Supervisor’s is home to one of the largest installed painted murals in the United States. At just over 4,200 square feet, this mural depicts the early settlement years of California prior to becoming the 49th State. The Mural was painted in four months’ time by Daniel Sayre Groesbeck for just over $9,000.

Rodney Baker
After a successful career in the communications cable industry, Rodney retired in 2010. Since retirement he has enjoyed working with a number of Santa Barbara area non-profit organizations; including service on the Board of Trustees of the Courthouse Legacy Foundation; he is also involved with the Courthouse Docent Council, leading that organizations small projects committee. Some may recognize his name from stage credits in local theater and most notably as a Supper Numerary in Santa Barbara Opera productions.
