One of our most important projects to date is our work on the Great Arch. The beautiful arch needs our attention and we are actively working on an Analysis Report that will inform us about the condition of the arch and what's needed to preserve it.
We begin our next fundraising endeavor in 2016; the Great Arch and steps leading up to the Courthouse. Both are in dire need of preservation and restoration. Check back for more details as our projects continue!
The restoration of the Mural Room is complete! Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
Did You Know...
The Mural Room, once the hearing room for the County Board of Supervisor’s is home to one of the largest installed painted murals in the United States. At just over 4,200 square feet, this mural depicts the early settlement years of California prior to becoming the 49th State. The Mural was painted in four months’ time by Daniel Sayer Groesbeck for just over $9,000.
